Megan Rodgers
Vice-President

My name is Megan Rodgers and I am a senior studying International Studies, Political Science and Spanish here at the University of Arkansas. I first became involved with Students with Refugees when I signed up to volunteer at the Refugee Camp Experience my freshman year. Since then, I have had several opportunities such as studying abroad, interning with Canopy and workings with other advocacy groups like STAND which have made me more and more passionate about supporting refugees as they attempt to rebuild their lives and making NWA a welcoming home to those who are resettled here! In the future I hope to work on improving U.S. resettlement policy in order to give more individuals the opportunity for hope that resettlement provides and ensure that they are well supported throughout the resettlement process.

Maggie Smith
Assistant Director of Communications

Hi! My name is Maggie Smith! I’m a sophomore International and Global Studies student with minors in Arabic and Theatre. I have a huge heart for refugees and marginalized people. I want to bring new energy and ideas to advocate and change our campus and the world around us.

Jacob Condran
Assistant Fundraising Coordinator

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Jacob is a senior history, international studies, and political science major at the U of A. Having had internships with the Arkansas Governor’s Office and the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus, Jacob became interested in refugee issues while spending his entire junior year abroad in Prague. While in Prague, Jacob began to work with a local NGO that helped settle refugees in the Czech Republic. Since returning to the US, Jacob has sought to help the refugee community here in Fayetteville through his work as an SWR officer and as an intern at Canopy NWA.

Isabella Grace Faulkenberry
Director of Communications

Grace hails from her family farm in Ozark, AR, next to the Arkansas River. She is currently studying philosophy with hopes of pursuing a degree in immigration law from UARK Law. She believes the way to make the world a better place is by loving people, which she aims to achieve day by day through her work with Students with Refugees and other local volunteer programs. Grace has four fur babies at home and can often be found loving on the little ones out at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. A few of her favorite things are hiking, hammocking, flowers, and calligraphy. 🙂
